CARE CARDS

What are Care Cards & Why are they important.

In addition to the Beacon of HOPE Fund, we recognize that no two journeys are the same, so we distribute Care Cards in place of standard care packages. These $25–$50 gift cards empower recipients to purchase essential items based on their individual needs, ensuring practical, dignified, and effective support. This model allows us to maximize impact while honoring personal circumstances and promoting choice.

THE BEACON OF HOPE FUND

The Beacon of HOPE Fund provides direct financial assistance to cancer patients and caregivers experiencing financial hardship related to diagnosis, treatment, or recovery. The intake process ensures assistance is distributed fairly, confidentially, and with integrity, while honoring each individual’s unique needs.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS:

STEP ONE:

Applicants complete a Beacon of HOPE Fund Intake Application online.  All information is kept strictly confidential.

STEP TWO:

Applicants are REQUIRED to provide supporting documentation.  Upload documentation in portal provided and allow time for it to be reviewed.

STEP THREE:

A Beacon of HOPE Review Committee evaluates applications. Applicants are notified of the decision within a designated timeframe.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Once the application and REQUIRED documentation is submitted.  The Beacon of HOPE application committee will evaluate them.

The committee evaluates applications based on:

  • Urgency of need

  • Available funding

  • Alignment with the Fund’s purpose

  • Previous assistance received (if applicable)

Each request is reviewed prayerfully and objectively to ensure equitable distribution of resources.

Applicants are notified of the decision APPROVED or DENIED:

  • Approved applicants receive confirmation outlining:

    • Type and amount of assistance

    • Method of assistance (direct payment, financial support allocation, etc.)

  • If a request cannot be fulfilled immediately, applicants may be placed on a waitlist or referred to additional resources.

  •

Approved assistance is distributed through:

  • Direct financial support (Beacon of HOPE Fund)

  • Payments toward qualifying expenses (as applicable)

  • Coordination with partner organizations or service providers when appropriate

Funds are never distributed as cash and are tracked for accountability.

Recipients may receive:

  • Follow-up check-ins for encouragement and prayer

  • Invitations to Circle of HOPE Prayer & Encouragement Calls

  • Referrals to additional ministry programs and community resources

The Beacon of HOPE Fund is not a one-time touchpoint—it is part of a holistic care approach.
