Through programs such as our Beacon of HOPE Fund, Care Cards, Prayer & Encouragement initiatives, and other Foundation resources, assistance may be available in several areas. TRANSPORTATION
Potential support with transportation-related needs connected to cancer treatment, appointments, and care.
CAREGIVER SUPPORT
Prayer, encouragement, resources, and compassionate support for caregivers walking alongside loved ones affected by cancer.
LODGING
Potential assistance or resource connections for temporary lodging needs related to cancer treatment and specialized care.
PRAYER & COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Prayer, encouragement, support groups, Circle of HOPE connections, and faith-based community support for patients, survivors, caregivers, and families.
BEACON OF HOPE FUND
Help With Qualifying Bills & Expenses
Financial assistance for eligible expenses when cancer creates financial hardship. Approved assistance is directed toward a qualifying bill or expense, such as a utility provider, landlord, medical provider, or other approved service provider.
Assistance is not distributed as cash to the applicant.

$50–$100 for Everyday Essential Needs
Care Cards provide flexible, short-term assistance directly to approved recipients so they can purchase essential items based on their individual needs. This provides practical support while preserving dignity, flexibility, and choice.
CIRCLE OF HOPE
Prayer, Encouragement & Community
Faith-based prayer and emotional support for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers through prayer calls, encouragement, devotionals, scripture-based affirmations, and intentional community connection.

BEACON OF HOPE FUND
Help With Qualifying Bills & Expenses
The Beacon of HOPE Fund provides financial assistance for eligible expenses when cancer creates financial hardship. Approved assistance is directed toward a qualifying bill or expense, such as a utility provider, landlord, medical provider, or other approved service provider.
Assistance is never distributed as cash to the applicant. Payments or approved financial assistance are directed toward the qualifying bill, provider, or expense.
Applications are reviewed based on urgency of need, available funding, alignment with the Fund's purpose, required documentation, and previous assistance received when applicable.
Applicants may apply once per calendar year. If assistance cannot be provided immediately, applicants may be placed on a waitlist or referred to additional resources.
CARE CARDS
$50–$100 for Everyday Essential Needs
Care Cards provide flexible, short-term supplemental assistance directly to approved recipients. The $50–$100 gift cards allow individuals to purchase essential items based on their personal needs while preserving dignity, flexibility, and choice.
Care Cards may be requested every 6–12 months, depending on individual circumstances, urgency of need, available Care Card funding, and prior assistance received. Approval is not guaranteed.
Applications and required documentation are reviewed based on need, available funding, and previous assistance.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Receiving a Care Card does not automatically qualify an individual for the Beacon of HOPE Fund, and receiving Beacon of HOPE assistance does not guarantee future Care Card approval. Each request is reviewed independently to ensure fair and responsible stewardship.
CIRCLE OF HOPE
Prayer, Encouragement & Community
Our Circle of HOPE provides faith-based spiritual and emotional support for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. Through prayer calls, devotionals, scripture-based encouragement, intentional check-ins, and community connection, we remind those facing cancer that they do not have to walk their journey alone.
Participants can receive prayer and encouragement and connect with a supportive community throughout their cancer journey.

We know that waiting for a response can be stressful. Our goal is to review every request with care, compassion, and efficiency so you can focus on what matters most—your health and your family.

Complete the online application for the support you need. Ensure all required documentation is included to help us process your request quickly.

APPLICATION REVIEW
Our committee reviews each application based on urgency, alignment with our mission, and available funding. We may reach out for additional information if needed.

DECISION & NEXT STEPS
You will be notified of the decision via email or phone. If approved, we will coordinate your assistance based on the type of support awarded, including delivery of a Care Card or payment toward an approved qualifying expense, as applicable.
OUR SUPPORT DOESN'T END WITH AN APPLICATION
Every person who reaches out to CSM Cancer Foundation matters to us. Financial assistance is based on eligibility, available funding, and the type of support requested, but our commitment to prayer, encouragement, compassion, and community extends beyond financial assistance.
Whether you receive a Care Card, assistance through the Beacon of HOPE Fund, participate in Circle of HOPE, or are connected with additional resources, our desire is that you know you do not have to navigate the cancer journey alone.
